Education Requirements to Become a Bail Bondsman

  • Take 16 hours of pre-license education that is provided by the Oklahoma Bondsman Association (classes cover things like bail law, duties, and responsibilities)
  • Take 8 hours of continuing education courses that are produced by the Oklahoma Bondsman Association

Bail Bondsman Examination

  • Fee of $100 to take the exam
  • Have to pass with a 70% accuracy score
  • Can retake after 30 days but if it is failed 3 times - you will have to wait a year between exams

Qualifications and Experience for a Bail Bondsman

  • Have to be 21 years old
  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • One year of residency in the state
  • High school diploma or an equivalent
  • Have good character and a good reputation
  • No criminal record or cannot be convicted of a felony
